Booking Terms and Conditions
Adventure Training and Expeditions (hereinafter known as we) accept bookings on the following conditions; Bookings, Payments and Cancellations
1. A deposit of £250 accompanies the booking form for each member of each expedition. For courses, 50% of the course fee must accompany the booking form. If sending the money by electronic bank transfer, you must pay your fees (remitter) and our fees (beneficiary). Cheques must be made payable in sterling. 2. For expeditions, the balance is due 60 days before departure. For courses the final payment is due 42 days before the course start date. If the final balance is not received within this time frame, we reserve the right to cancel the booking. 3. Bookings made after the balance due date may be accepted at the discretion of Adventure Training and Expeditions providing that the balance is paid in full at the time of booking. 4. The price quoted at the time of booking includes only what is stated online for the relevant expedition or course. 5. Should you cancel we must be notified in writing and charges will apply. Charges are as follows for expeditions; More than 60 days before departure = loss of deposit. 30 days or more before departure = 30% of total expedition cost. 21 days or more before departure = 60% of total expedition cost. Less that 21 days before expedition departure = 100% of total cost. For courses; More than 6 weeks before course = loss of deposit. 3-6 weeks before course = 50% of total course cost. Less than 3 weeks = total cost of course. 6. Should we be forced to cancel due to reasons beyond our control, an alternative will be offered or a full refund given. 7.Once your booking has been confirmed by us, you must promptly provide us with the necessary information we require (such as passport, insurance documents etc). 8. Every effort will be made to adhere to the published itinerary. However, due to the nature of or courses and expeditions, changes may have to take place and sometimes at short notice. Adventure Training and Expeditions will try to inform you of any such changes as soon as we know about them (such as trekking routes, hotel booking, change of date etc) but accept no liability for such changes.
Leadership
1. Each Expedition will be led by a qualified and suitably experienced Adventure Training and Expeditions leader. Each course will be delivered by a qualified Adventure Training and Expedition instructor. 2. The Expedition Leader or Course Director will do his / her utmost to ensure your expedition / course runs smoothly. By signing the booking form you agree that the Expedition Leader / Course Director has the authority to make decisions that may affect the group or individuals. For example, if a member of the team acts illegally or inappropriately or is in an unfit state to carry on, the Expedition Leader / Course Director has the right to ask them to leave the expedition / course. 3. A client who chooses to leave the expedition / course or is asked to do so will not be entitled to any refund or compensation. Refunds or compensation will be at the discretion of Adventure Training and Expeditions. Medical.
1)Adventure Training and Expeditions will require you to complete a medical questionnaire for most courses and all expeditions. We may require you to obtain confirmation from a medical professional that you are fit to participate in the course / expedition you have signed up to. You acknowledge that we have a duty of care to you and to other participants and have the right to cancel your booking if we deem that you are not sufficiently fit to participate. If after the medical declaration you have any further illnesses, injuries or come into contact with infectious diseases, it is your duty to notify Adventure Training and Expeditions immediately.
Liability
1. Most of our expeditions involve going to remote and/or third world places. Many are often at altitude. Therefore, there is a certain amount of risked involved in taking part in an adventurous activity. The ability and speed in which an illness or injury can be treated are reduced. Working at altitude, in snowbound conditions or on a glacier are classed as hazardous activities. By signing these booking conditions you acknowledge and accept the risks and hazards involved. 2. We will not be held responsible for illness, injury or death sustained on one of our expeditions unless it is a direct result of negligence by one of our representatives. 3. We will not be held responsible for loss, damage or theft of any personal property. 4. We advise you to have personal insurance for all of our activities and request that it specifically covers the adventurous activities that will take place. You must ensure that you have adequate insurance cover for helicopter search and rescue as well as for repatriation in the event of a medical emergency.
Equipment
1. On booking, you will be provided with an equipment list relevant to your expedition. It is your responsibility to ensure that your equipment is fit for the purpose it is intended for prior to departure. We advise you to take out adequate equipment insurance. Other 2. These booking conditions may only be amended by Scott or Michelle Smith. Any such amendments will only be considered in special circumstances. 3.When making a booking, it is implied that you have accepted and understood the booking conditions. 4. By agreeing to these conditions, you give your consent for us to take and use photographs of you during the expedition / course and use them for publicity purposes.
